Update: More than a dozen YARC club members attended the flea market, most went for the social aspect but a few picked up items that were for sale, or picked up incoming cards from the QSL Bureau’s table. Lots of old aquaintances were renewed, and many newer hams were met for the first time, and as usual, the faces and bodies didn’t match the mental images that were formed from over-the-air contacts.
Five members stayed for the NSARA meeting that followed and got updated on the association’s activities and plans.
Former club members Lee Anderson VE1AYX, Willis Kinsman VE1XY and Barry Diggins VE1TRI were there, along with out-of-town members Leigh Hawkes VE1GA, Max Witherall VE1XAM and John Scott VE1JS, so the Yarmouth club was well represented.
The main door prize, an Icom 2 meter transceiver, was won by Percy Veinot VE1PLV. Roger O’neil VE1ROO and his xyl Deanna VE1DLO each won a door prize as well.
There are lots of photos from the flea market on themaritimeamateur.com website.
